Drumroll, please! We are thrilled to announce that the talented and enthusiastic dancer Dan Repsch is coming to Dublin this Summer. Join us on the 6th and 7th July as Dan brings his passion and expertise to the DTB community for a killer workshop!

Workshop Class Descriptions:
During this workshop we will explore some exciting topics:
- Blues Grooves: This class is all about the groove! First we'll figure out what it means, and then we'll explore the many different ways to embody a groove. We'll layer grooves both over our basics and other movements.
- Foundational Blues Rhythms: Let's explore the rhythms that appear most commonly in blues music, and the different ways we can use these rhythms as dancers. Sometimes we’ll mirror what we hear, sometimes riff from it, sometimes fill empty space, and ultimately we’ll open up our expressive opportunities.
- Axis Awareness: We’ll increase our awareness and give movement ideas based on communicating different kinds of full and partial axis shifts, and with enough time even explore asymmetrical partner dancing over a single axis.
- Chill Fast Dancing: This class is about keeping it chill, comfortable, and relaxed, even to fast music.
Workshop Levels:
This is an All Levels workshop but we would encourage you to attend at least 3 Bluesday Drop-in Classes prior to the workshop.
Dan will be teaching new moves and styles so that both beginners & advanced dancers will get the most out of this workshop and enhance your Blues dancing.

Know the teachers
Dan Repsch
Dan is immersed in the music and the movement. As a teacher, his enthusiastic approach brings a focus on innovation, connection, and attention to your partner. As a veteran DJ, he's played for events across 4 continents, DJing everything from international events to local dances. He’s also organized both locally and for international events, including a Head DJ role in BluesSHOUT! and The Balboa/Blues Experiment. In the end, Dan is most excited to work hard at improving the dance and to see people break through their boundaries.
